There hasn't been a professor who has had a bigger impact on my career than Paul Atkinson. Not just with his teaching, but with his mentorship and his ability to bring out the best talents and skills with everyone he works with. He's showed me so much more than just technical skills and taught me so much more than just how to tell a story. I know people probably say it a lot, but there's absolutely no way I'd be where I am in my young career if I hadn't taken his class. Under his guidance, I won a BEA award for a sports radio story I did as part of his class. I say it all the time, the best decision I ever made was taking his advanced radio reporting course at Cronkite. It put me on the right track to what I hope will be a long, fulfilling career.
