Paul is an outstanding Designer, Creative, and Programmer with great skill in building immersive and interactive world from as little as a sentence on the back of a napkin. I worked directly with Paul developing a range of client-based game products servicing educational outcomes. I continue to be impressed by Paul's ability to intricately weave learning and fun in game mechanics. Paul is also a thoughtful and considerate lead, and empowered me to rise to challenges that, at the time, I wasn't confident I would be able to achieve. I will forever thank Paul for cementing the opportunities that paved way to the person and games producer that I am today.

Paul has been a great designer and fellow developer to work with. Having a solid history in both of these disciplines meant Paul could anticipate the likely technical fallout of major design decisions. Paul was really able to help find the appropriate compromise between amazing and releasable on all the projects Scarlet City shipped. While Paul is a solid cross-disciplinary game developer, I view Paul's greatest contribution to Scarlet City Studios to be his persistent vision-setting at all levels of the company. I couldn't count the number of times I've seen Paul grab a meandering team and in one meeting have them raring to conquer the next big feature or piece of content. I've also seen Paul tirelessly fight for intelligent next steps for the company time and time again. Thankfully for everyone who worked at Scarlet City, Paul has the ability to know what should be done next, the persistent persuasiveness to get everyone on board, and the stamina to keep making necessary decisions until the project has shipped. I don't think The Aetherlight would have seen the light of day if it weren't for the cohesion and momentum that Paul naturally manufactures.

Hired as an analyst programmer, focusing on UX. When a client project needed extended oversight, I helped by taking on the project management. I now help lead the software development team, by focusing the developers on important tasks, and guiding the development of the user experience. Hired as an analyst programmer, focusing on UX. Hired as the Technical Lead to help a studio establish an in-house development team. I quickly became the Lead Designer, then Game Director of their flagship product an online game for 10-12 year olds that aimed to teach biblical literacy. I led a production team or 25+ and oversaw the direction and design of the product. Hired as the Technical Lead to help a studio establish an in-house development team. In this position I worked directly under the CEO, coordinating the development of a major enterprise software system. Leading a team of developers, designers and analysts, I was responsible for the continued development of one of the company’s flagship products. This varied job had me coordinating the development as well as working closely with clients during pre-sales and implementation. I was involved in many projects and had many different job roles while with this company, ranging from intermediate programmer to technical project manager. I was the lead architect/developer for a successful Delphi product with a distribution of over 50,000 units.A large part of my time was spent with their Delphi/Java/Oracle core product, doing analysis, design, development and implementation. I was involved in large rollouts of an enterprise software product to large Australian companies (up to 10,000 employees). For the first of these I was part of a small team that was brought onboard to rescue a project that was about to become a lawsuit. The team successfully completed the implementation and gained a loyal and happy client. The next major implementation where I was technical lead from the beginning went in on time and on budget, with good results.
