Was a member of the Policy and Research Unit (P&R) of the Economics Group at the Reserve Bank of Fiji, and reported directly to both the Senior Economist P&R Unit as well as the Chief Manager of the Economics Group. The P&R unit was primarily involved in conducting research support to the other units in the Economics Group, and during my time there we did a number of studies concerning the RBF monetary policy transmission framework, as well as looked into the development of a macro-model of the Fiji economy. In addition to ongoing research efforts, we also took the lead in developing the RBF Economic Reviews which was published monthly following approval from the Governor of the RBF. As an Economist with the Economics Group, I was also a member of the internal monthly monetary policy coordination committee meetings which involved discussions on the monetary policy stance of the RBF in the months going forward taking into account the prevailing domestic and international economic environment.
