Pro bono work on behalf of US captive bred parrots and those in native ranges. Captive bred, and deprived of being raised by their parrot parents, "pet parrots" are nonetheless wildlife, as unfit for captivity as elephants, chimps, orcas… long-lived with high emotional & intellectual IQ. Yet their captivity garners little outrage compared to that for larger captive wildlife. Some parrots have no choice but to be “tame” but they are still wild in longings, thinking, instincts, and biological needs for flocks, sunlight and miles of space for exercise, native foods. Captive, non-releasable parrots at least deserve a flock and flying space, with sunlight and foraging ops. The breeding for our homes needs to end and we must protect parrots in their native ranges before it is too late. Show less
