Patrick's unique style, direct approach, and experience were just some of reasons I enjoyed working for him at Complete Genomics. Not only is he very observant, he is well versed in all areas of just about any subject, technical or otherwise, discussed around the table in staff meetings. He frequently provided helpful advice on alternate ways to approach situations and would point out any shortcomings in our thinking because he had a wider view. His many years of experience and insight into the workings of an IT organization make him a great leader and valuable asset for any company. I would not hesitate to work for Patrick again. .

Patrick is by far and away one of the most competent and capable IS and facilities directors I've ever worked with. He hires intelligent people and empowers them perform their jobs at a high level. His passion for all things technical is clearly visible in his day-to-day life. His quick wit and good sense of humor make Patrick a great person to work with.

My teams built out the wet labs, the pipeline hardware, database and storage for what was the premier high throughput genome scanning platform in support of NIH, Pfizer, GSK and others. The network included international presence and continuous large data transfer from our lab in Tokyo. We were 24 hour a day support for what was the most advanced genome scanning platform available. I came in via acquisition and dropped into Core Engineering with the Netcode team. I was then hired into Professional Services to initiate a new global troubleshooting team - NetSquad. The team I hired pretty much worked on anything, anyplace in support of Netscape server platforms. I came in via acquisition and dropped into Core Engineering with the Netcode team. KidSoft pioneered the distribution of children's video games on CD. As an early stage hire, I designed and built out the data center, LAN, networking infrastructure, Unix mail server and DNS server and managed the installation and support of the Aspect Call Center. I was hired to work closely with Carl Brozias and Future Planning in the complex migration from scattered OCTEL buildings on Tasman to the contiguous six new buildings on Murphy Ranch Road. My team was responsible for the support of all OCTEL voice mail systems residing in the lab, as well as the corporate system, working very closely with Engineering to provide support and maintenance to the many units used for integration testing. My role consisted largely of providing necessary connectivity to our new wafer fab in Bangpa-In, Thailand. This predates trans-Pacific fiber so I was forced to provide dual 64KBPS satellite hops which supported voice, data and video to headquarters in California. Also supported connectivity to Japan, Malaysia and inter-campus connectivity in California. My role consisted largely of providing necessary connectivity to our new wafer fab in Bangpa-In, Thailand. Early stage hire, my initial week at work had me configuring a Cisco AGS router as well as networking three AT&T G3 PBXs. As the company grew, I brought up our first European presence in Geneva, Switzerland using UUCP. This was followed by a 64kbps link to our co-located presence in Kanagawa, Japan in a Canon building. My team support networking on the physical layer as well as all adds, moves and changes to the voice systems.
