Donna Carey

I was hired by Patrick Tessier to work in the Kern Supply Chain group in September of 2007 under his supervision. Patrick always made sure that the group objectives were clearly defined and work instructions available to ensure consistency of the work. Under his watch, a new inventory system was implemented to better track part usage and PO's in the main warehouse but also at the 30 smaller sites across the US and Canada. New min/max's were calculated to minimize inventory cost. Cycle times were reduced, back-orders dropped by half and one-day processing increased from 60% to over 98%. The inventory count variance was reduced from 6% to less than 1% across all sites. Charts are posted in the warehouse so we could monitor our monthly performance. Patrick had weekly meetings with our group to address any issues and to provide us with the tools and resources necessary to do the job right. We all appreciated the fact that he never micromanaged us and let us take more and more responsibilities when he felt we were ready. I have worked with Patrick on several process control and OEE improvement projects at our Androscoggin pulp and paper mill. Patrick developed and implemented advanced control strategies in several complex process applications. What makes Patrick an asset to is his expertise in advanced process control combined with his knowledge of pulp and paper processes. The control algorithms he developed always took into account the special characteristics of our fiber line. I strongly recommend Patrick to anyone looking for this special combination of knowledge.
