My memories of working with Patrick are very fond and this is both down to the overall success which he brought to the Beyond business and the growth and stability which he achieved within our larger accounts. The specific attributes which I found the most unique, and those which in my experience are tough to learn, was his ability to really understand and communicate with our clients. Patrick had a way in which to engage and talk to clients about complex issues at a level which they understood, and which was way beyond their short term goals or specific project needs. Patrick also had that chameleon like ability to change his style and selling skills to suit his audience. People trusted Patrick and his innate ability to sell got us in the door and won us business on numerous occasions. If my business was in the market for someone and I could afford him, I would cement Patrick here as in my 30 years of business his type is as rare as hens’ teeth.
Richard Saysell
I worked with Patrick for over a decade at Coutts and within the Writtle Group. Patrick has always shown a deep empathy for client needs, intrinsically understanding and delivering their requirements whilst ensuring relationships remained profitable for the business. He has an analytical trait which backs up his intuition and a collaborative coaching style of management which saw him quickly promoted to the management team. Patrick’s natural and easy going style won him many long term supporters from both clients and from within his direct reports, several of whom I still work with 12 years later. Patrick often challenged the validity and purpose of briefs, or the approach our business was taking but his arguments were always put forward with cogency and tact and very constructive discussions would often ensue. I have no doubt I would still be working with Patrick if he hadn’t opted to leave the city, long before the advent of Teams and Zoom etc! I don’t hesitate in recommending him.

Director Of Client Services

Aug 2009 - Jan 2011
I joined Beyond Communications as Client Services Director, but within a year had been promoted to Managing Director. In the two years I was there, under an aggressive sales strategy, the business grew from 6 people to 20 and built a strong reputation in several specialist sectors including brand development and retail point of sale production and procurement. Director Of Client Services
-
Apr 1998 - Apr 2009
I joined CRC, an East London based design and POS production business, as Account Manager for the Walt Disney Account and rapidly took the business from c. £2M annual turnover to £4.7M whilst growing my internal staff from 4 to 11 people. Having been promoted to the Board as Home Entertainment Account Director, I helped the business grow its portfolio of major clients; wining Fox, Sky TV, Universal Pictures, Warner Bros and Red Bull in quick succession. These wins and our growing reputation as a design-led (not production-led), business prompted the entire business to move to new West End offices where the business grew still further and became AIM listed.
