We are working as a team to research the feasibility of using bamboo as structural reinforcement within concrete walls. The goal of our research is to develop and implement both a design and method of using bamboo to reinforce the walls of structures on the Haitian plateau. By adding the structural reinforcement we hope to reduce the chances of structural failure in the event of a natural disaster, such as the 2012 Haiti earthquake.
