My work for MHVillage/Datacomp involves research, writing and editing to create illustrative and useful content. MHVillage boasts 25 million visitors annual. The site is responsible for $3 billion in home sales each year. My interest with MHVillage is to help convert what has primarily been a very useful listing site to one that maintains those attributes and is presented in more of an evocative light, a magazine-style experience at www.mhvillager.com blog for consumers & www.mhinsider.com blog for professionals. • Business Editor
      • Nov 2004 - Jun 2008

I was the one-man business desk, which was one of the things that attracted me to the job. I assigned and wrote my own stories. I took many of the photographs and video. I blogged. I helped plan each day's paper, and designed each day's business page or section. I drove my managing editor crazy by being really bad about calendaring. But I won the paper many of their good, lasting relationships by going to sources and being a real person, not just a reporter. Sometimes I never took my notepad out. And I always reveled in the opportunity to say "What story? There is no story..." And I meant it. Trust. Show less
