  My role as a Customer Assistant at VUE cinema has helped me develop a wide range of valuable skills. Whether I’m working collaboratively with my team behind the tills, being knowledgeable with the projector equipment or working under pressure during a quick cleaning turnaround. My job provides me the opportunity to be creative when I arrange the displays with film posters, character cardboard cutouts, and movie merchandise. I am responsible for choosing eye catching displays that can visually impress and captivate the customer’s attention. I find it exciting to work in an environment with a community that embraces film. The cinema has given me a wider insight into how audiences will react to a film and what they’d like to see in the future. During the pandemic, I was part of the Covid Safety Team. I had to ensure that social distancing was taking place and customers were following health and safety rules. Despite working under pressure, it resulted in my team being safe and customers satisfied after returning to the cinema. Earlier this year, I was rewarded with the “The Golden Lanyard”, which is an award given to a staff member who has worked exceptionally. Show less



The Fowl: Student Short Film

  I was a producer for the student short film, The Fowl (2020), which was financed through a GoFundMe campaign. I was involved with many core elements of production. These included location scouting, sorting props, reserving equipment, auditioning actors and scheduling meetings for the cast and crew. While on set, I made sure the release forms were signed and that health and safety checks remained a priority. After shooting, I was responsible for paying the actors and crew.   Time Flies (2019) was an animated student short for my ‘Identity in Animation’ module during my final year at university. Working in a group, we had just two weeks to complete the project and I was very proud of what we achieved in such a short time.   During the Summer 2018. I worked as an Activity Team Member at Presthaven. This Job included working at the Pottery Shop on the campsite. Here I helped customers paint over a selection of models, put them in the oven and glaze them overnight so that they could collect them two days after. Additionally I helped organise many arts and craft activities for families on the campsite. I was also actively working on the retail area of the campsite at the Swimshop. Here I would stack shelves and serve Coffee. At the end of the day I would take part in a deep clean over the site, that included mopping, hovering, polishing, taking out the bins and cleaning windows. A working week would sometimes go up to seven days and on some days would consist of 10 hour shifts. The support from each member of the team there definitely helped us work successfully and provide customers with a great holiday. Show less
