I was involved in clinical research under Dr. Roman Kotov that aims to find the underlying epigenetic, environmental, and neurobiological factors that are responsible for various mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder. Analyzed data from a longitudinal cohort database consisting of 20 years worth of patient data. Lab Responsibilities: • Conducted interviews with study participants to obtain information regarding their medical history. • Analyzed blood test results, and forwarded letters to participants to inform them of any abnormalities (or lack thereof). • Analyzed Diffusion Tensor fMRI images for artifacts that could have potentially affected subsequent image processing and data collection. • Analyzed and compiled the data from the school records of over 400 study participants to establish a correlation between symptom severity of schizophrenia and school performance.
