      The research intern ship has focused on the extent to which current psychosocial support networks in Jordan relate to the desires and needs of the affected Syrian population groups, aiming particular attention at the role of religious beliefs in the experiences and coping mechanisms of trauma. I had to send emails and had to follow up with phone calls to arrange meetings with different religious and secular intergovernmental organizations, non-governmental organizations and community-based organisations. To support the research team, I wrote a comprehensive literature review of the role of Islam and spirituality in mental health and psychosocial support for Syrian refugees in Jordan. I also mapped-out humanitarian organisations in Jordan that provide mental health and psychosocial support to Syrian refugees. These assignments were necessary before the research team would visit Jordan between 30 June and 14 July. Through a brief informal interview, the research team would discuss the possibility of a future research programme, seek possibilities for mutual involvement and cooperation, and assess the main obstacles and challenges in mental health and psychosocial support in Jordan. Based on the information obtained by the conducted interviews, this knowledge might result in a large-scale participatory research project in Jordan and in the future in Lebanon.
