    • Summer Camp Counselor
      • May 2018 - Aug 2018

Cheley Camp in Colorado, US provided an opportunity for children to get away from the outside world dominated by social media and image in order to teach them about the more important things in life, whilst simultaneously embarking on overnight activities such as mountain biking, hiking and camping. This involved taking children in groups of 15 around the Rocky Mountains, helping them to achieve as much as they possibly could by breaking through their mental and physical barriers. The responsibilities required caring 24/7 for children aged 13-18 in the camp. I was personally assigned 8 of the youngest campers to help them settle in to the new environment and then filter in to the wider grouper of senior campers. In addition, I would write weekly reports of these 8 campers to their parents. This job highlights my ability to be responsible and trustworthy in a new and challenging environment. In addition, the work enhanced my skills as a leader through leading by example and helping the children to reach their full potential.
