I am the senior HR Business Partner on a team supporting the Department of Medicine (DOM) at the UW School of Medicine & Public Health (SMPH). My portfolio includes a mix of clinical divisions and large multidisciplinary research centers, totaling approximately 350 employees. The employee group includes faculty physicians, research faculty, exempt-level professionals, hourly staff, graduate students, postdoctoral trainees, and student hourly employees. My role includes administering recruitment and employment life cycle processes for all employee categories; serving as primary HR contact for recruitment, hiring, retention, performance management, compensation and titling, off-boarding, training and diversity goals; providing consultation on the interpretation of and adherence to HR policies and procedures; and serving as HR Liaison for employees and administrators on employment issues, questions and concerns. DOM is the largest academic department in the UW System and the largest clinical department within SMPH and UW Health. Its mission is focused around excellence in the three pillars of academic medicine: patient care, research, and education. I enjoy the energy, passion and challenges of academic medicine, and take pride in supporting work that advances the health of people in Wisconsin and beyond. Show less
