In this capacity I am responsible for the overall safety of the ship and crew during my watch, supervising watches on the bridge and operating the Kongsberg K-Pos DP system on a daily basis in NW European waters. Duties on-board include passage planning, aids to navigation inspection and maintenance, internal auditing, risk assessments and as the Ship’s Safety Officer generating safety reports using the on-board maintenance system, Inspection and maintenance of all LSA and firefighting equipment and Ship’s medical lockerOperation and upkeep of all bridge navigation and communication equipment, publications, certificates and ship’s logsOperation of ship’s Kongsberg Multi Beam Echo Sounder Survey equipment including SVP (Sound Velocity Pole) dips, uploading of all survey information and generating the survey report.
