I taught in a self-contained classroom of 5th grade students and later was moved to 7th grade. I taught all subjects because at that time K - 7th grades were taught in an elementary school. When DeKalb County changed to the Middle-School model, I moved with my 7th graders to Shamrock Middle School, now known as Druid Hills Middle School and taught only life science for 10 years.
