Purchased and managed over $35 million of inventory annually from domestic and international suppliers in an extremely demanding environment with very short turnaround times. Managed supplier relationships with approximately 15 suppliers for a leading manufacturer in the publishing industry.Conducted negotiations with existing suppliers on annual contract pricing.Negotiated with outside suppliers on a daily basis for new and existing products to secure the best pricing and delivery time. Worked closely with account managers and production planning to evaluate material requirements.Managed the monthly physical inventory counts and reporting for all four locations. Established and managed consignment programs. These programs resulted in a direct savings of over $200,000 annually. Established quality claims process which resulted in an increase in paid quality claims from approximately $3,000 to over $150,000. I worked directly with the press room supervisor, pressmen, vendor sales representatives and supplier technical representatives to facilitate quality claim processing. Managed all quality claims in all four locations.
