      Worked as Surgical Tech. in the Labor and Delivery department. Scrubbed on ceasearen deliveries and a L&D Tech for vaginal deliveries. Setup labor tables for vaginal deliveries, and setup the OR when C-Sections was scheduled or in situations that required the need for them. Once the deliveries in the OR was completed, I broke down the OR for cleaning, and restocked the OR once it was ready. Assisted nurses, physicians, and residents on vaginal deliveries with their needs. Setup the warmers from time to time for newborns. Placed foley catheters on patients that had an epidural, and removed them once it was time for deliveries. Broke down the laboring beds for delivery and set them back once it was over. Drew up blood gases from umbilical cords. Made charts for all patients, and even helped with birth certificate forms to be mostly completed. Cleaned up patients once they were done with deliveries, and even helped transport patient to the postpartum side. Retrieved newborns for nursery and returned them to their mothers, once the Nursery had completed their assessment. Transported patients and newborns down to their cars when it was time to leave the unit. Checked carseats to ensure it was placed properly for the safety of the newborn. Attended class online and in the classroom to receive my NRP certification. Collected and labeled placentas for the lab. Filled out the proper forms for the placentas. Show less

I coordinated with my manager and the surgeons, when it concerend any ordering new equiptment for the facility. I took care of the equiptment maintence and inventory of the supplies. Worked with our other facility in Memphis, Tn. along with the Neograft office in Louisville, Ky. Worked with the Neograft team and physcians to facilitate the care of their needs and the patients.
