  Mentoring is the process of providing guidance to first year students to ensure a well structured transition from high school life to varsity life. Student housing at Nelson Mandela University facilitates training to mentors and this program runs throughout the year. This has personally helped me because I had a good relationship with my mentor during my first year and I learnt so much from my own mentees as a mentor.
