December 2005 - February 2023 Canada Post Corporation – Regional Occupational Health and Safety Officer My current position supports the Maintenance Techs, Vehicle Services Techs, Equipment/Process/Maintenance Engineers and Real Estate of Western Canada in providing guidance on the application of Corporate Policy, Procedures and Safe Work Practice as well as the compliance requirements to the Canada Labor Code, CSA Standards as well as other governing bodies. I attended to six Local Joint Health and Safety Committees as the Health and Safety Resource and provide them guidance to reduce risk and injury rates in their respective facilities. I perform safety related auditing and industrial hygiene testing that includes verbal and written reporting to the local leadership and the local union. With the results and recommendations for safety and performance improvement. I provide training and guidance in Incident Investigation. I am a Health and Safety Instructor for the Supervisory and the Letter Carrier Schools that provide employees with the safe practices and procedures necessary to perform their daily duties. I trained, coached and/or mentored seven new Safety Officers to the Safety position within the Organization. I was the lead officer for Alberta and Saskatchewan in the creation and implementation of the Frequently Injured Employee Program which produced a success rate of 91% having no further injuries. I sit on three National Committees that develop programs and processes for Leadership, Motorized Material Handling Equipment and the delivery portion of the business. I sat on the Regional Communications Committee as the Health and Safety Representative and editor for the preparation of Safety Talks. Show less
