Director - Laboratory Advisory Specialist. Intalere is now a Vizient company

Jan 2016 - Present
I am now involved in both GPO sales and consultative services for laboratory at Intalere. My main goal is to help clinical laboratories remain a valued part of the hospital. Laboratories provide 70% of the patients clinical data. Their place in patient care should be providing information for their recovery and an active part of the healthcare team. There are many opportunities for laboratorians to reduce lenghth of stay and improve outcomes for the patient. I can assist in this transition from a behind the scenes position to a more proactive part of the hospital team.

Our goal was to solve problems for our Amerinet members. We spent time with them face-to-face looking to improve their pricing. Alliances were organized to provide a setting for group discussion and to standardize contract use. I was involved in organizing 5 laboratory alliance groups in Utah, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, and Arizona. Our goal was to solve problems for our Amerinet members. Laboratory Manager at Orem Community Hospital - a general medical and surgical hospital in Orem, UT, with 18 beds. This was my first chance to manage a laboratory on my own. This hospital was small but had a fully developed set of birthing suites and was known as a friendly place to labor and deliver a baby. Because I speak Spanish I often got to translate during medical and birth procedures.
