I'm happy to write this recommendation for Pat Maher. When I met Pat at the Microsoft Technology Center, I was starting my career in Technology and he became an excellent mentor to me and other candidates with disabilities. I became a ITKAN member and then got promoted to become an advisory board member for the ITKAN Advisory Team by Pat for my ideas, suggesting guest speakers and attending meetings. He and Kathie Topel introduced me to the ELCA who hired me as an IT Service Desk Intern in 2017. After I completed my internship, Pat asked me if I would be interested in contacting Year Up and I said yes. I applied for the program and got accepted right away. He always gave encouragement and advice when I was struggling with the program, but I succeeded with flying colors, completed my training and finished my internship with the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Pat and his company SPR hired Year Up students as interns to achieve and reach goals as I have. I met many of his business partners while I was a member of ITKAN and he always saw that I exhibited passion in my career. Year Up was rewarded with the Rose Stein award by ITKAN and Pat for " Closing the Opportunity Divide" and reaching potiental resources for young adults based on my participation in Year Up. I highly recommended Pat Maher to any organization. He's a great leader, very loyal and awesome person to assist others to reach their career goals.
