I mentored Parveen when I was overseeing the Business Innovation Facility in Bangladesh, which Parveen led. However I also learnt so much from how Parveen built a team, her skills as a teacher and trainer, and the way she supported and empowered women and men - but particularly women - as entrepreneurs and future business leaders. She is a highly accomplished in all aspects of HR but is also a very astute business leader and strategist, and I am delighted that she is now one of my closest professional associates.

Parveen Huda is an exceptionally bright person. She can analyse a complex situation in a very short time and get to the crux of the matter. She can not only think strategically, but also plan and manage operations very effectively.

CREA (https://www.facebook.com/CREAworld.org/ ) is coordinating a South Asia Young Feminist Leadership project, funded by Global Fund for Women. The SAYWLM project was conceived within the context of the need to strengthen and sustain feminist organizations and the overall feminist movement by building cadres of young feminist leaders. The project was focused on South Asia, with the goal to build the feminist leadership capacity of 30 young women activists/leaders (YWLs) working in 30 organizations in India, Bangladesh and Nepal. Each YWL was in turn supporting and building the leadership of at least 10 young women in the communities in which she worked. The project experimented with a unique methodology that combined both annual training of trainers workshops as well as ongoing, monthly mentoring of the activists and their organisations by teams of two- three mentors in each country. The Phase I of SAYWLM ended in 2020 and we are just launching SAYWLM Phase II- for a period of 2 years till March 2023- with 20 partner organizations from India, Nepal and Bangladesh. As part of CREA and GFW’s focus on strengthening partner organizations, SAYWLM Phase II will utilize the twin approach of providing CREA’s “FLMBaRI”-style training (Feminist Leadership, Movement Building and Rights Institute), as well as structured, monthly mentoring to the heads of the organizations by a team of mentors specialized in organizational strengthening and leadership coaching. This will enable the organizational leaders to further engage with concepts, tools and methodologies around the critical issues of feminism, feminist leadership, feminist mentoring, movements and movement building, etc. The mentoring will also support them to create and strengthen an inclusive organizational culture, strengthen institutional governance, build leadership among its core staff, and further integrate a movement-building approach to deepen the impact of their social change and gender equality work.
