Bio
Jason Chitwood
I had the pleasure of working with Parmoon at Toi Labs, where she never failed to impress. Her work ethic and drive were the foundation for her departments creation and growth from a small team of 3 annotators to an international network of annotators / reporters. She was always listening and willing to learn more about how she can improve and be a better manager / leader. Her hard work and dedication is evident in her team members performance and how highly regarded she is by her team.

May 2020 - Aug 2020
As a Teaching Assistant for the department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering in Human-Centred Design, I collaborated with students to create various deliverables for design projects (written report, prototype creation, project management documents) and facilitated activities leading to decision-making. I provided students with feedback and resources to both develop and improve low-fidelity prototypes, gather primary research via needs-assessment, collect data from subject-matter experts. Lastly, I provided support for students on topics relating to human-centred systems design (UX/UI design). Show less

Research Assistant

Jan 2019 - Aug 2019
As a research assistant in Dr. Derek Rosenzweig's lab, I looked at the applications of 3D printed scaffolds to treat musculoskeletal diseases; specifically their implications in ligament and cartilage tissue regeneration. Projects: (1) Integrating 3D-bioprinting techniques with nanoporous polymer scaffolds used for bone, ligament and cartilage tissue regeneration in vitro; (2) The effects of progesterone and 17ß-estradiol on in vitro ACL ligament tissue regeneration and regrowth As a research assistant in Dr. Derek Rosenzweig's lab, I looked at the applications of 3D printed scaffolds to treat musculoskeletal diseases; specifically their implications in ligament and cartilage tissue regeneration. As a Graduate Student Assistant at McGill, I worked closely with Professor Richard Klopp in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. This role involved marking bi-weekly assignments, in-class activities and course assessments (including Final Term project). The course required extensive knowledge of multi-views/dimensioning in engineering drawings using AutoCAD. AON3D is a rapidly growing startup based in Montreal, Canada, with a mission to improve the capabilities of industrial 3D printing using advanced thermoplastics. They serve customers that are pioneers in the application of 3D printing in their field (automotive tooling, prosthetics, aircraft interiors, etc.) AON3D is a graduate of Y-Combinator and venture-backed by top investors from Silicon Valley. At AON3D, I was responsible for Materials Testing of the thermoplastics being used by the AON-M industrial 3D printer. In particular, I assisted with production and mechanical maintenance of the AON-M industrial 3D printer, while also performing analysis of the mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties of a variety of polymers (i.e. PETG, TPU and PEEK). Through this, I created deliverables for customers. The position involved failure analysis, process development, data tracking, and documentation using tools such as MS Excel and Trello. Show less

Worked closely with neonatologist Dr. Jaques Belik to 3D model and design a respiratory system for a prototype used for paediatric lung simulation. This meant creating an anatomically correct infant respiratory system using SolidWorks, 3D printers, and silicone casting techniques. I also conducted research to optimize compliance and other material properties of silicone lungs and other components of the prototype.
