Master's thesis in the field of machine learning and deep learning. In a robotic unit for handling the cuttings-produced plants, a vision-based system for object (plant) recognition was to be developed to support robotic separating and sorting of the overlapped (occluded) cuttings of plants. However, recognition of occluded target objects is still a bottleneck. In this thesis, PatchPerPix and CenterMask2 method for instance segmentation with good performance for occluded objects were investigated and implemented. Show less
