The unit is composed of four departments with a total of 65 employees, including system engineers, software developers and test engineers, all of them based in Milan. We are in a transition phase and the main challenge is to introduce Agile and Streamline development methodologies while keeping the commitments taken by Time To Market projects.

  From 2008 I leaded an Integration and Verification department. I coordinated function and performance tests, customer support and customer acceptance tests for Microwave Transmission equipments. We developed a Test Automation Framework, boosting the productivity thanks to higher test speed and 24 hours labs utilization. Investment paid back in less than one year.I imported in the company a modern way to promote employees’ creativity and innovative ideas, allowing time for free thinking and self study.I have driven a big change in the unit, enabling job rotations for the most experienced verification engineers in my unit. We obtained a big motivation improvement in the periodical survey, both for the people who got new opportunities in the organization, and for those who remained in the department, finding new roles and bigger responsibilities.   I have been temporarily appointed head a R&D Functional Unit, within Product Development Unit Microwave Networks. My responsibility was the coordination of all verification and quality assurance activities in R&D development projects. Based in Gothenburg, Sweden, but the unit was operating in four R&D sites in Sweden, Italy, Hungary and China, with 8 departments and a total of 150 employees. I was responsible for the performance of the unit, the assigned budget, the competence development of the employees and for defining and maintaining the test environments with focus on efficiency of operations and effectiveness of investments. Main achievements in the role: development in high pressure (short time to market) of a digital board with high speed DSPs and Network Processor to transcode voice traffic across 2G-3G mobile networks.
