Bio
Janet Barkdoll
In February 2022, I participated in a Tableau Crash Course with Panos through Swarthmore College's Career Services Office. The pace was just right and the content was well-suited to the workshop. Given that Panos interacts with many students in sessions like this one, I especially appreciated his openness to engage with each of us— answering questions, and assisting with difficulties— as though we were students in his classroom for an entire year. I have never encountered such a remarkable warmth and one-on-one feeling in a skill/career development workshop, especially over Zoom.

If my learning journey was a chemical reaction, then the skills that I have acquired under Panos' tutelage would be a catalyst. In the last two weeks, I have had the absolute privilege of being part of a small group of Swarthmore College students who spent time learning about data analytics through the AESOP Academy. Panos' drive to equip young and rising professionals with skills that will make them comfortable working with data is impeccable. He is knowledgeable and confident with his teaching methods: which in turn gives his students confidence to find stories in big data that is often chaotic. Through this experience, I have made connections with other students, had fun working on group projects with teammates, and also received the boost that I needed to be comfortable with big data. Thank you Panos for making this possible, and for your commitment. I can only wish that every student that is passionate about big data could have the opportunity to learn from you as I did.
