The Government of the Republic of Korea through the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family of the Republic of Korea (MOGEF) provided Official Development Assistance (ODA) to the Republic of Indonesia through the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesia (MoWECP). The ODA was implemented in a form of a project to support women empowerment in Indonesia, especially to strengthen women’s employment and entrepreneurship in West Java through gender-integrated vocational training, preparing a foundation of the system that connects vocational training to employment and startup, and preparing gender-sensitive policies to ensure gender mainstreaming in vocational training. The ODA took place in Sekoper Cinta building, Bandung, in collaboration with the West Java Provincial Government. Indonesian National Coordination Team of South-South Cooperation (NCT-SSC) consisted of the main ministries that involved in South-South Cooperation (SSC): Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas), Ministry of State Secretariat, Ministry of Finance. NTC-SSC serves as the national focal point of contact in delivering SSC as well as coordinating SSC programs. It also connected and formulated cooperation with the development partners and played roles in monitoring and evaluating the implementation of SSC programs. I worked as the Liaison Officer for The Secretariat of NCT-SSC. The Secretariat was supported by USAID through US-Indonesia Partnership for South-South and Triangular Cooperation Component 1 (USIP 1). Duties and responsibilities: - Assisted the Working Group 1 on capturing demand and supply management issues in the preparation of annual work plan related to NCT-SSC activities; - Worked with the Working Group 1 to ensure quality, relevance and timelines of project work plans of NCT-SSC specifically on capturing demand and supply management; - Liaised with and act as the link between a variety of stakeholders, specifically the Working Group, partners, experts, civil society and the academic community to ensure that the project achieves the output; - Assisted any duties relevant for the NCT-SSC requested by Head of Technical Team of NCT-SSC and/or Chair and Co–Chair of Working Group. Key achievements: - Supported technical cooperation with various countries (e.g. Mozambique, Fiji); - The part of the team that developed Indonesia's Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) with Timor-Leste and CPS guidelines; - Promoted Indonesia's SSC by working on annual report, monthly newsletter, promotion videos, and various events such as the side event of 2018 IMF-World Bank Annual Meeting; - Managed the database of Indonesia's SSC; - Supported the launching of Lembaga Dana Kerjasama Pembangunan Internasional (LDKPI). The RCA is a tool for improving the connection between pro-poor policies, their implementation and the people that such policies are supposed to serve.
