Bio
Lazaros Kapsias
I first met Panagiotis during his interview when he was applying for the vacancy of a VLSI engineer opened by a startup called Antcor. He had just arrived from the academia and he desired to acquire as much industry driven experience as he could. The thing is that he eventually successfully joined a newly established VLSI group which was unable by then to teach him even the fundamentals. Moreover immediately after his signing he was entangled into various compelling projects where the only way to survive was to dive deeply into them without considering the risk and to sacrifice with generosity his personal free time. Panos did survived and today only few years later he is an almost indispensable key member of a VLSI team of a multi-national company.Throughout all this time he is continuously adding experience points on top of his characteristic attributes which are dedication, passion, calmness, convenience and efficiency among others. His strongest point remains his analytical skills that allow the rapid digestion and solving of heterogeneous problems matched always by a humble approach which promotes the team-work. I am glad that I have served as both Panos manager and colleague.

As Hardware design engineer Panos was responsible for: • HDL implementation of PHY layer blocks for Wi-Fi 802.11a,n,ac products, based on fixed-point Matlab models • Design and HDL implementation of interfaces for DAC and ADC components and radio control circuits • Design and HDL implementation of APB and AXI bus master and slave interfaces • Verify in HDL-Matlab cosimulations that the blocks work standalone and in the integrated system • Lab testing of the integrated system • Write technical documentation Panos has demonstrated extensive design experience in Quartus, ModelSim and Matlab
