In the current situation teaching online, supporting students and working as a team will be vital. A 'Student Centred Approach' will give the students confidence to achieve. Teaching holistically, which I have been doing already, is the way forward to complement qualifications being taught. A healthy mind is a healthy learning environment therefore it was vital that I updated my skills, teaching online, with a less is more approach and completing 'a teaching online course' and adding to my experience in this area that I already had. I have gained knowledge from around the world and the different approaches that have been tried and tested in the current climate. I will show confidence in this approach therefore my students will believe in me and I can build up a good rapport from the first session and going forward, reflecting on what worked well and what could be improved on. ICT Tutor, Employability tutor, Supported Employment and Mentor

Jan 2004 - Mar 2009
I worked with people who had a disability and gained them work placements for experience. I also tutored people with a visual impairment in ICT using supporting software such as zoom text and also JAWS, where I was self taught and they gained the ECDL qualification. I also had the opportunity of being personal assistant to a woman with visual impairment, who delivered training on equality. I was linked with Barnados teaching one to one with students with various disability in the ICT capacity. Unfortunately we lost our funding and the company ceased to exist. This was definitely a worthwhile project. Show less
