Responsible for: sourcing all fabrics and trims, calculating all costings, working with the patternmaker and sample sewers and performing fittings.  Research and Development; travelling, semi annually, to cities such as: New York, Montreal, Toronto and Seattle to source styling, fabrication and to forecast the trends.  Website Creation: Built Aero/Phoenix West’s first ever website in collaboration with Ideographic Strategies Inc. Due to an extremely tight budget, we had to be creative and resourceful by using students from the Blanche Macdonald Make Program, recruited volunteer models, used our own accessories and built a portable changing room on wheels that rolled down the sea wall as we moved locations for the lifestyle photo shoot. I creative directed, styled and executed the photo shoot and website concept as well as photographed 300 product shots.  Managing Design Team: responsible for the design assistant, the pattern maker, the sample sewer. Hiring and terminating staff, scheduling reviews, salary increases and holidays.  Line Release: responsible for semi-annually presenting the completed clothing line to Western Canadian and USA Representatives. Travelling to the USA to work the line with the Sales Reps at the Trade Shows.

Upon my departure, after 3 years, Plum was producing 80% of their overall merchandise with tremendous success. The other 20% was ready-made product that we bought in from various supplies.  Travel to New York, Montreal, Toronto, Los Angeles and Seattle.
