As Chief Sustainability Officer at VDT, I managed Pam directly in her role as VDT's Sustainability Coordinator. Pam is a really good architect first, but then layers in her authentic passion and deep knowledge of sustainable design. Pam is highly motivated, works well within team settings, loves to mentor younger staff, and was a pleasure to have on my team.

I joined Valerio Dewalt Train Associates full-time in September 2019; prior to that, working in a part-time capacity as I cared for my children.I led the Turner Chicago Office and Chicago Fire Football Club training facility renovation projects. In January 2020, I accepted the title of Sustainability Coordinator. I helped develop the firm's 'Sustainable Design Guidelines' including supporting research for project teams, oversaw the reporting process for the AIA 2030 Commitment, and created an in-house reference document for materials and products aligned with health, sustainability and the firm's design aesthetics.I helped lead the VDT pandemic task force which developed and implemented back-to-work strategies and policies based on extensive research. My efforts and documentation aided in working toward the Fitwel Viral Response Module certification for the Chicago and California offices.Aligning with my passion for sustainable design, I helped develop a program for the C40 Reinventing Cities 2020 competition, taking an underutilized site in Chicago's Loop and creating a carbon-neutral building that will be a place for diversity and inclusion as well as a catalyst for a more resilient city.
