This experience led me to focus on global environmental crime within my current Masters. From this, I will be investigating environmental crime in my dissertation over the Spring and Summer.

I was part of Fossil Free since its inception in 2014, graduating to Secretary in 2015 and President in 2016. Fossil Free is part of a national movement to pressure institutions, communities and governments to divest from fossil fuel companies. This was my most fundamental extracurricular position at UoB in which I played managed the group, working closely with the research, events, social media and outreach team, all the whilst building ties with the University for future negotiations. Having eventually secured approval from the Finance Department at UoB, the latter committed to a comprehensive divestment of fossil fuel company investments in March 2017; a conversation that continues to include Fossil Free in the coming years of change.
