Test Automation Framework Development: • Designed and implemented an automation framework for HTTP layer testing of web server interfaces. This framework was used to test functionality of front end http pages as well as back end service interfaces. Key features of this framework were complete environment independence with separation between script and data for long term maintenance. • Designed automation to test and validate end-to-end functionality of external data feed pull mechanism. This framework validates the data workflow at each step and further validates the end state at each layer of stack. • Developed performance test automation that runs test cases in Grinder load test tool. This automation is used for tasks like test case management, reporting, test data generation, running test passes and suites etc. Stress and Performance Testing: • Acting as a lead for stress and performance team • Planning team strategies, missions and long term projects • Developing performance tests for the web server UI • Troubleshooting stress issues and leading efforts to improve site performance • Running stability and uptime passes against site build • Finding Garbage Collection and Heap Memory trouble spots for JVM performance • Debugging stored procedure performance issues for MS SQL Server databases • Participated in test planning and execution for several release cycles Build and Deployment Tasks: • Deploying Maven builds in multiple environments and automating deployment tasks • Database backup, restore, building SQL databases and running schema update build scripts • Automating remote deployment for databases across multiple database servers • Integrating deployment tasks with Ant so they can be run through CruiseControl Show less

• Application Development: Successfully implemented a windows application to query WMI and SQL server to find SMS components information. Developed tool includes a front-end UI to let the user select the SMS site server machine he is interested in along with validation. The C# based backend then connects to the SMS WMI classes to get component details like WMI provider location. It will also connect to SQL database host and detect whether the database is hosted by a SQL cluster virtual server. The application UI will display all relevant information the SMS UI cannot display. • Automation Framework Development: Implemented automation framework token to uninstall SMS reporting Point from a machine. The C# based token utilizes WMI classes to access the reporting point object and its properties. Implemented automation framework token to create a SQL command task from SMS Admin UI. The written token will utilize user input to instantiate and populate a WMI class object. • Test Automation: Successfully developed test automation suites to automate setup/deployment procedures as well as various component regression test scenarios. The automation suite also included a set of functions developed to automate common tasks like SQL server querying. Other functions were developed utilizing cluster scripting techniques to determine SQL cluster ownership, cluster maintenance tasks like changing cluster ownership and initiating failover. • Test Planning: Successfully developed test plans and executed automation to test SQL cluster support feature for Systems Center Configuration Manager 2007. • Network Setup/Product Deployment: Successfully setup a bench environment for test automation. The setup consisted of a fully isolated network with its own DHCP/DNS server. Network included domain controllers with a two way trust relationship replicating through global catalog. Successfully deployed SCCM in the network and tested Active Directory integration. Show less
