Padmanabh Pundrikaksha Pancham is hardworking and very friendly person. As a teacher and faculty adviser, I had an opportunity to observe his participation in Semiconductor Device Physics course and active interaction in the lab doing simulation and other projects. While mentoring him for pursuing his higher studies abroad, I saw a great aspiration in him to be a part of research community due to his enthusiasm, lot of patience & calmness, technical proficiency, strong work ethics and willingness to learn. Given several chances to teach his juniors, I have seen excellent teaching skills in him as he explains complicated theories in a simple comprehensive and fundamental way. Although calm and composed, his friendly and optimistic attitude, always ready to lend a helping hand towards his friends in times of difficulties makes him popular. He is an outstanding student in all respects. I wish him grand success in all his future endeavors.

      Project Title:Voltage controlled Insulated Gate LED simulation using SILVACO. InGaN/GaN based multiple epitaxial thin film has been proven to be the most effective solution to the optical applications with complete coverage of visible light spectrum in contrast to some prevailing Light Emitting Devices with critical drawbacks like relatively short lifetime, phosphor degradation, low reliability, low color rendering index, complex driver circuit etc. This project presents simulation results using the ATLAS simulation software for phosphor free GaN/InGaN multiple quantum well structure along with a novel control terminal incorporation to result in decoupled emissions of multiple wavelength photons aligned to the visible white light spectrum. Intensity and wavelength of photon generations are tailored by number of quantum well, Indium content in the InGaN layers and control terminal voltage. The bias responses for the device structure have been extensively presented and the color of the spectral distribution has been mapped with CIE 1931 standard. A new application area of color mapping with bias dependent single LED structure has been revealed for the new device. Show less
