Bio
Karen Jaye 'Kaiku' Alejo
Ozgur is a manager that gets things done. He is objective and keeps business as a priority but never fails to take into consideration the welfare of the people he manages. He makes sure that work-life balance exists in the office. Ozgur came to the Manila office and turned things around. He made sure that processes are in place and issues are addressed. Performance improved in all KPIs (volume, quality and cost). It was really nice working with him and reporting to him. He kept a professional attitude, never failed to ask how we are doing, and never forgets to recognize a job well done. If given a chance, I would definitely want to work with him again. I highly recommend him as a manager and head of any operation.

If you want a manager that delivers results and get even the toughest things done within your organization, then Özgür Sel is the guy for the job. He has a sharp focus on what's important to keep a business running optimally and he's not afraid to make unpopular decisions if it's necessary. He can also pinpoint with precision which aspects of the operations need to be tweaked. He is able to channel his vision and methods to his management team through patient coaching. He believes that small incremental victories help push people from point A to B (and once they get to B, the process towards improvement begins again -- or kaizen). When he took over as Head of Offshore Operations in Manila, he faced daunting challenges: under-performance at dangerous levels, high attrition rate, attendance issues, inefficiency, among other things. However, through close management, regular goal-setting, and continual, daily emphasis on results, he and the team leads turned the situation around and gave order to a haphazardly-run office. In just about 3 months, the Manila teams were performing at par with their much experienced counterparts in the company's other offices in Europe. I am fortunate to have had Özgür Sel as my manager and I became more effective as a manager myself with his guidance. He is very professional and has a quiet but commanding presence that inspires respect.
