Reporting directly to the State Manager these operational leadership positions provided strategic direction for the overall business function on site and lead the execution of the site mining, mineral processing and manufacturing plans. Appointed to the statutory role of Site Senior Executive, this required the highest level of due diligence and health and safety leadership. This position also encompassed environmental, cost accountability, ensured statutory requirements were met, drive business productivity and sustainability as well as lead site projects and continual improvement program. A key focus of this position was evaluating and growing team capability across safety, technical and people management areas. Part of my success was taking ownership for creating a high performance environment committed to safety, staff training and development, business improvement and operational excellence. This position regularly interfaced with other functions in the business such as Supply & Planning, Warehouse & Logistics, Engineering, Safety and HR, creating a cohesive environment built on proactive communication and sharing to achieve the business plan and its objectives. As part of the role I also participated in national Continual Improvement Projects and was a key representative on the Health and Safety Steering Committee.
