      In my current role as Gender Advisor, I am responsible for tracking country progress in empowering women and girls to scale up nutrition and advice on best practices to mainstream gender in their national nutrition plans by: • Keeping the Special Representative to the UN Secretary General (SR-SG)/Coordinator of the Sun Movement, informed on wide range of challenges in the intergovernmental and multi-stakeholders processes relevant to scaling up nutrition in particular, issues relating to the empowerment of women and girls and provide advice on policy and strategy related matters. • Identifying inequalities and key bottlenecks in implementation of program in countries and liaise with United Nations agencies, Civil society organizations, academia, donors and business networks to develop solutions and ensure support is catalyzed for country led efforts and the communities are benefited from the programs. • Mapping key strategies used by SUN countries that have proven effective in advocating for women and girls empowerment and developed strategy to effectively communicate these examples movement-wide. • As part of the 2015 Financial tracking exercise I reviewed SUN country progress related to women empowerment within existing policies and plans and mapped countries with gender responsive budgeting in their national budgets • Led the development of the SUN in Practice Brief on Women and Girls Empowerment: “Empowering women and girls to improve nutrition”. In this role I identified and worked in close collaboration with authors in country to accelerate sharing of best practices. • Contribute to the preparation of the SUN progress reports and regular updates of other documents as required.

      As Special Assistant of the SRSG of the UN Secretary General for Food security and Nutrition I was responsible for providing operational and administrative support to the SRSG thereby enabling a smooth functioning and overall effectiveness and efficiency of the SRSG’s: • Organizing his complex schedule of meetings and missions travel thereby enabling a smooth functioning and overall effectiveness and efficiency of the SRSG’s activities. • Kept the SRSG/SUN Movement Coordinator informed on challenges in a range of intergovernmental and multi-stakeholder processes relevant for Scaling Up Nutrition • Prepared his presentation for team meetings and ad-hoc meetings and kept all team members informed of updates of the SRSG’s schedule, trip reports and directives by preparing and circulating reports. • I was also involved in the successful organization of high level meetings: Travelled with the SRSG on his various missions and responsible for smooth organization of bilateral meetings with senior government officials, donors and multi-stakeholders. • Furthermore I have usefully established and maintained an excellent working relationship with colleagues in different United Nations Agencies and UN office in Geneva and country offices with whom I interact regularly.
