It’s rare that you come across someone as passionate and driven as Otilia. We worked together and collaborated on multiple projects. Otilia is very skilled with nucleic acid, protein and biotechnology techniques, but more importantly she is very creative and an excellent problem solver. She demonstrates excellent soft skills, it is a pleasure to be part of her team, and she is an outstanding supervisor and mentor. I would recommend Otilia for any Senior Scientist position in industry or academia. I believe she is well qualified for leadership positions and will certainly be an extremely valuable asset to any team.

Otilia is one of the best postdocs I have ever come across. Focused and dedicated to perform complex tasks as well as simple ones. Skilful in the lab environment, well organized and does an excellent job on writing papers and reports.

      • Performed and managed a biotechnology project on microalgae for biomass and biofuel production. The main accomplishment is screening of a large collection of marine microalgae (aprox 160 strains) to identify best 2 species that can be used for biomass production in an outdoor and year-round cultivation system on the Swedish west coast.• Contributed to the elucidation of the role of chloroplast transporters and channels in the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana. This knowledge will allow control of ions in the chloroplast, with the aim of improving photosynthesis.• Improved methods for microalgae cultivation, growth and biomass determination, fatty acids isolation.
