• Organize, develop, implement and oversee the execution of various department programs, projects, and activities throughout the Kaiser Permanente Mid-Atlantic region. • Participate in the development and implementation of Health Information Management Services policies & procedures, operations, and automated systems providing medical information to Kaiser Permanente Mid-Atlantic States staff and providers. • Assist in supervision of release of information staff including training, development, coaching, and evaluating in conformance with departmental goals and policies. • Monitor staff’s work performance and report to upper level management, as required. • Oversee and monitor the release of health information in response to both internal and external requests for patient information, ensuring compliance with privacy and confidentiality guidelines and regulations. • Conduct evaluations of overall Health Information Management Services utilization, needs and gaps. • Compile, analyze and report data to upper management on a periodic basis to monitor the performance of the medical centers health information functions. Initiate initiatives to improve the quality and efficiency of health information services. • Train new and existing users on how to utilize Kaiser Permanente’s various clinical application systems. • Organize and facilitate interdepartmental, service areas, and regional meetings. Sit on committees and task forces to develop and implement programs and processes to achieve current and future goals and objectives in meetings and region wide summits. • Serve as Kaiser Permanente’s HIMS department liaison to outside vendors such as M&T Bank, Recall, and Lasership. • Serve as primary resource on Health Information Management Services issues to health care teams and providers, providing technical expertise, training, education & guidance to ensure accurate and complete clinical documentation of patient health information.
