As a commercial lawyer, I work in the Fintech, retail and education law sector - it is hardly an industry in Africa. My interest spans the regulatory environment, advisory and transactional.* I headed the team that advised a Nigerian Fintech in a proposed 10 billion USD evaluation acquisition.* I led the legal team in Yep! Pay's acquisition of a Nigerian Microfinance Bank*I led the legal team that advised and negotiated the Lagos Business School's Sustainable Use of Natural Resources and Energy Finance (SUNREF) credit facility. We also negotiated the renewable energy project up to the execution of the definitive agreements.* I headed the team that advised a Fintech during an investigation by a regulator.* I combine all these with an acute interest in dispute (litigation) practice and commentary on fintech regulations in Nigeria. We founded Elisio, fresh out of the Law School. Interestingly, we all had multi-cultural backgrounds - a key advantage. We hoped that Elisio would become a frontline law firm in Nigeria. We bootstrapped, believed in the dream, and passionately worked on the project. I exited the firm in 2014 for personal reasons. We founded Elisio, fresh out of the Law School. The Central idea was to be a sector-specific go-to media house for Africa's legal services market. Events, employments, idea, ownerships, ethical issues, interview, opinions, and lots more. The project became unsustainable and I closed it down. Perhaps, the market keeps ripening. The Central idea was to be a sector-specific go-to media house for Africa's legal services market.
