Haven is an Irish non-governmental organisation (NGO), strongly committed to empowering the people of Haiti to build sustainable livelihoods and to live free from poverty.Through this role, I directed all aspects of the organisation, managing teams based across offices in Dublin and Haiti and operating an annual budget of over €1.3 million. A key element of the role involved establishing a sustainable income by leading the fundraising strategy, planning significant events, preparing grant proposals, and developing donor, corporate and other stakeholder relationships: one central achievement came in raising over €250,000 in Quarter 1 of 2018. I also led the implementation of Haven's strategy and ensured Haven met its legal, statutory and regulatory responsibilities.

Jan 2016 - Sep 2017
As PR and Communications Manager, I was responsible for managing internal and external communications across all channels, enhancing brand continuity and strengthening donor engagement. I acted as liaison with Haven’s PR company to organise media opportunities anddeveloped press releases and publicity material. I also produced Haven's Annual Report, newsletters, social media, website content, and marketing material for all projects and fundraising events. Following 2016's Hurricane Matthew, I led Haven;s emergency fundraising appeal across print, broadcast and digital platforms, which raised over €150,000 in public donations within two months. I also secured coverage of events, programmes and other activities with a wide range of local and national media, including RTÉ, TV3 and the Irish Times

Áiseanna Tacaíochta (ÁT) is a user-led network supporting people with disabilities in Ireland to manage their own Personal Assistance (PA) services through a Direct Payment system. As Communications Officer with ÁT, I coordinated national campaigns to promote disability rights and policy reform, engaging with complex groups of stakeholders. I led community fundraising events and initiatives, directing all communications with donors, participants and other stakeholders; and produced and issued all press releases and marketing materials, strengthening ÁT’s coverage and position by working with a range of local and national media. A key achievement in the role came with the organisation of the 'Declaration of Independence' assembly event in June 2015, bringing hundreds of people together in the first national cross-disability event of its kind in Ireland.
