In my position as Associate Professor, I lead a research team of highly skilled professionals and train pre-doctoral students. During the past 10 years, we have published 98 scientific articles, including 20 articles in journals with Impact Factors >20 and we have received research grants totaling more than $5 million. In 2019, I was awarded a European Research Council- Grant to conduct clinical research on new antimicrobials. During the period of 2020 to 2022, our team conducted research on SARS-CoV-2 Coronavirus disease (COVID-19). In 2022 we led pioneering research on epidemiological, viral, and prevention aspects of the mpox virus outbreak. Show less
