  1. Develop a new laboratory for Basic research in Type 1 Diabetes: - select and buy pieces of equipment (the most expensive was the Flow Cytometer: Euro 327,000);- plan basic and efficient laboratory spaces; - select qualified personnel and instruct them about the new technology and the new Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) previously developed and tested on my own. 2. Coordinate a new Research group formed by 1 PhD, 2 technicians, 1 Medical student.3. Find grant funds and write grant proposals: - EFSD and JDRF/Novo Nordisk European Programme in Type 1 Diabetes Research. Research Grant Application 1 July 2012. Title of proposal: Neutrophils and innate immune responses in the pathogenesis of type 1 diabetes (T1D). Total budget requested: Euro 95,670.- Projektförderung 2014 der Deutschen Diabetes Gesellschaft (DDG). Title of proposal: Neglected regulatory cell populations in Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). Total budget: Euro 10,000.

Develop new Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in in vitro mouse models for the Haemophagocytic syndrome. 3. Fulfill the Milestones and Deliverables described in the above EU project (FP7). 4.
