Customer Care Associate
-
Feb 2020 - Dec 2020
Provided customer service as people entered the furniture and home decor consignment store - greeting, inquired if they were looking for specific items, answered questions and suggested items. Cashier. Created pricetags for new inventory at owner's request and inputted new consigners in the computer system. As items sold or when customer flow was slow I was able to move items around or "stage" vingettes to feature new items or give the store a fresh look. This also shows customers what types of items can go together. Show less

Professional Organizer and Home Stager
-
Apr 2012 - Dec 2020
My business, Omina Designs, helps seniors, individuals, and families clear clutter in their homes to create space for themselves and what is important to them. I will work as a partner and team member and listen to your needs to develop a project goal and a plan to reach it. I also assist seniors, individuals, and families step-by-step throughout the entire process of moving their household through downsizing; yard sale preparation and donation coordination; packing and move preparation; home staging; and unpacking, space planning, and reorganizing in the new space. I am an Accredited Staging Professional, a member of the International Association of Home Staging Professionals, and a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers both nationally and locally. I look forward to sharing my passion for organizing with others and helping people through transitions in their own life's journey. Please visit the website www.ominadesigns.com for more information. Fiber Artist
-
Sep 2011 - Dec 2020
I create hand-dyed scarves and other items of various styles and fabrics such as silks, rayon and cotton. Each hand-dyed item is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece of art and cannot be duplicated. I enjoy using my own version of shibori techniques, a Japanese term for several methods of dyeing cloth with a pattern. Some of these methods are known in the West as tie-dye. Sun reactive dye has been a fun, new medium experimenting with photo images, stencils and natural items. I use a fabric stretcher to try batik and other ideas I dream up for dyeing scarves and material. I also weave scarves, table runners, and other items using a variety of fibers. Other creative interests include photography and other arts and crafts. Show less

Interior Designer and Computer Draftsperson
-
Dec 2002 - Mar 2011
For eight years I worked for an architectural firm in central PA as an interior designer and computer draftsperson. The principals soon picked up on my organizational skills and gave me such responsibilities as creating a filing system based on job phases, organizing and maintaining the resource and materials library, as well as small space planning projects and color/materials selection, and feasibility studies which consisted of listening to client's concerns and needs and organizing the information into a presentable format with suggested options for the future project. I worked on team projects with designers in our office and partnering firms as well as team members in other disciplines in the field. Show less

Rides Operator
-
1994 - 1999
I had knowledge of operating a number of different rides - some independently, some I worked with a variety of people as a team. I had to oversee the ride's operation and what customers were doing and be aware of emergency situations at all times. I often handled customer's special requests and concerns.
