Perform Vessel - stowage planning for discharging & loading the containers thereby ensuring smooth vessel operations.Major Roles and Responsibilities:1. Prepare and execute the vessel discharge and load plans.2. Coordinate with information clerks and manifest to ensure vessel BAPLIE, discharge/ loading EDIs are received well in advance to allow him to execute vessel plans.3. Communicate with vessel operator’s central planning and obtain stowage information as early as possible.4. Ensure that stowage matches actual load list and mismatch reports are forwarded to vessel shipping agent.5. Understand vessel stability and safety requirements during discharge and loading.6. Ensure the intended discharge and load plan meets the stability and safety requirements.7. Ensure that vessel layout is defined in system.8. Establish crane sequence and crane work.9. Coordinate and resolve any stowage dispute with Agent’s representative.10. Monitor crane work program during live operations.11. Optimize vessel planning to avoid yard clashes and yard congestion in order to achieve higher productivity with minimum efforts.12. Coordinate with yard planner and dispatcher if they face any problems during live operations.13. Ensure that all containers bound for discharging and loading are completely handled and traveler plans and exception lists submitted to vessel Chief Officer on completion of vessel operations.14. File and maintain planning related papers in accordance with set procedures.15. Sound knowledge of NAVIS vessel planning systems & also CATOS vessel planning system. Show less
