Independent Researcher
-
Jun 2016 - May 2019
The goal of undergraduate research and independent work in Computer Science is to serve as an independent or synthesizing experience in which undergraduates work on significant research or design projects. Given the broad diversity of intellectual problems in Computer Science, and equally broad possibilities regarding future career trajectories, the style of project can vary from theoretical to systems or applications-oriented with output ranging from scholarly publications to working software or hardware. Most students start independent work during their junior year; I began independent research the summer after my freshmen year through an on-campus internship. While in the department I: • Designed and built a decentralized photo-sharing application on the Bitcoin blockchain using the Blockstack platform; gathered feedback from classmates, family, and friends to improve usability. • Designed an algorithm to approximate solutions to the Competitive Traveling Salesman Problem. • Designed project for environmental data collection using an autonomous drone. SquareFoot helps companies find office space by bringing technology and transparency to an industry that has historically had neither. During my internship, I primarily worked with the Head of Marketing, Growth Marketing Manager, and Chief of Staff to support across digital channels. • Used Google Analytics, Salesforce, and DOMO to generate and distribute weekly metrics deck to leadership team outlining progress towards KPIs. • Used Google Analytics to research historical SEO traffic, obtained results which highlighted the need to update / remove listings on the site. • Managed outbound email marketing campaign resulting in a cost per link well under the target. • Wrote blog posts featuring former SquareFoot clients and their office spaces. Sponsored by the Princeton Entrepreneurship Club, TigerLaunch is the nation's largest student-run entrepreneurship competition of its kind dedicated to building a network of student founders at the university, regional and national levels. TigerLaunch will be hosting four regional events for the 2018 competition season in Seattle, Chicago, NYC and Paris! Teams that advance from our regional competitions will compete at the Finals Competition at Princeton for $30,000+ in prize money and an opportunity to pitch to top VC firms, like Sequoia Capital. TigerLaunch combines networking, mentorship and funding opportunities to craft a distinct experience that competitors can carry with them far beyond our event. I joined the TigerLaunch team in my junior as a marketing team member. In my time with TigerLaunch I: • Managed outreach to entrepreneurship-focused Instagram influencers to connect student entrepreneurs with a greater audience. • Managed outreach to Princeton alumni in Seattle, Chicago, and New York City to connect students with potential mentors Show less
