      As the Communications Coordinator for Spelman College I am the Immediate point of contact for the Admissions department for all inquires and requests. As a member of the Admissions team I create the first impression contact with all interested applicants and their families & counselors who are interested in gaining knowledge and information about recruitment and admissions this is done via email, phone calls and even walk in (pre pandemic). I was apart of a team that increased admitted students 30% during a pandemic. My office duties include effective communication from answering phone calls for Spelman College as first point of contact, respond to all emails sent to admissions as well as directly to my email, ability to use multiple MS Office software, use of multiple CRM management programs to access applicants files across the university system network. As the communications coordinator I also complete requests to mail admissions materials to other Universities, Secondary Education Schools ( including teachers and counselors) and families of interested applicants. During our travel season while the counselors go out for recruitment events I also assist their travels with ensuring they have all their materials for the events. I do this by keeping up with the counselors travel calendar and sending the materials to their hotels in their perspective states. Once applicants show interest I assist them by entering all of their data in the CRM system for counselors to review for decision. I receive all documents for verification and upload to applicants files for review. I ensure future interested students are placed in our database to be invited to events such as information sessions. I receive all mail and packages sent to the Admissions Department and then sort mail to whom its designated in my department. I enter all application fees& deposits submitted by admitted students.
