I loved working with Olivia! She is a flawless project coordinator, and quickly communicated the project needs, then accompanied me on the journey to deliver the final product. We found our swing working together very quickly to deliver a complicated brief on a very tight deadline. I was so buoyed by her motivating leadership style throughout the process and really look forward to working on other projects with her in the future.

Olivia Hough assisted me as my mentor for the past two years, at the WeDu Rising Star Mentorship Program, an organization investing in women’s leadership training and development. A great role model and even more excellent as a mentor, she is always open and willing to offer help and assistance to anyone seeking. Olivia’s leadership is marked by her unparalleled personal and professional attributes, and complemented by her quality of being highly action-oriented and goal-driven. She continuously put her effort in guiding me throughout my undergraduate and graduate years, and under her strong mentorship I was guided to set SMART goals, and I felt mentally supported to achieve my action strategies for short and long term goals. Over the past two years as her mentee, she was very keen on visualizing positive change and it was very resonating. On a personal note, she is a person who is immensely grateful to the people and things around her. She frequently organized the Happiness Project in Cambodia through which, she shared her ideas on happiness and gratitude to a larger mass. Always speaking through her experiences, Olivia made sure to appreciate the little things in life and this was a lesson that she imparted to me as well. Olivia is very passionate when communicating with other people and actively listens to what is being shared with her. She communicates to understand others. Her ability to comprehend my concerns while at the same time, provide me with emotional support helped me greatly to conquer my doubts. She possesses all the merits and attributes that a mentor and a leader should have, and I can vouch for her to any of her recruiters.

Common Thread is a behavioural design firm with a mission to put people at the centre of public health. With a globally spanning team of behaviour scientists, human-centred designers, public health experts and creatives, we do research, policy, and strategy design and storytelling to make community voices impossible to ignore, and help shape health systems and services that are equitable, just, and respond to people’s real needs and lives. As a People and Project Manager, I use my passion for connecting with others and wellbeing to nurture our company culture and make sure everyone has what they need to do great work. I work on the leadership team at Common Thread to align and build company wide goals and objectives, find and nurture talented people, and create processes, tools, policies and workshops to take our collaborative work to the next level. And of course - have a little fun....gotta laugh along the way!

I am part of a team of Entrepreneurship Support Organisations (ESO's) representatives from across 5 countries to develop a prototype set of "Principles for ESO Metrics"; a standardised, regionally endorsed set of principles for the effective measurement and benchmarking of entrepreneurship support programming in SE Asia. This project was part of Frontiers Labs Asia; through a coordinated, design-led process, FLA supports the development of solutions to strengthen entrepreneurial ecosystems. I continue to support this project as a member of the steering committee, supporting specifically with business development and communications/messaging. Check out the website here: https://esoprinciples.asia/ FLA is a network launched & funded by DFAT (Australian Government, Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade).

      - Conducted a rapid, in-depth learning review with YBI and Google.org's local delivery partner, SHE Investments, to investigate key thematic learnings and the associated implications for their “Rapid Response and Recovery Programme”, providing digital skills to female Cambodian entrepreneurs. Building a concise body of knowledge and evidence on the key principles that underpin a strong recovery programme. - Engaged with 45+ staff, trainers and entrepreneurs through a series of interviews and focus groups, coordinating with interview facilitators and technical advisors. Identified the good practice and factors that are necessary to support a COVID-19 response programme for entrepreneurs in Cambodia, and developed practical actions and clear recommendations that can be used by YBI and network members as they approach or continue with recovery efforts. - Activities also included desk review of relevant reports and literature, research plan, a 10,000 word final report accompanied with a 5 page summary report. The interviews were analysed using thematic coding.
