Special Events Intern

May 2017 - Aug 2017
As the special events intern at the Lupus Foundation of America, FL Chapter I was able to bring lupus awareness throughout the entire state of Florida by planning, executing, and managing all lupus awareness events. I also acted as their Volunteer Coordinator leading up to their Palm Beach Walk. As the Volunteer Coordinator, I was responsible for assisting with the volunteer recruitment, training, and a delegation of tasks and responsibilities at the event. As well as handling all responsibilities relating to volunteer check-in, task delegation, station assignment, and answering questions. Over the course of the internship I was able to attend all major events and all event planning meetings where I was then successful to provide input and new ideas to the entire FL Chapter Team. Throughout the course of the internship, I was able to support the Director of Events and the Event Coordinator by facilitating event logistics, tracking event budgets, making phone calls to walks and team captains, making phone calls and emails to all vendors, and handling post-event walker registrations.

Admissions Assistant for Lynn University Boston Reception
-
Mar 2017 - Mar 2017
Worked alongside with two Lynn University Admissions Councelsors for the Boston MA Reception for all new students and parents for the incoming year. During the reception, I was able to attend by flying back North to assist with an introduction to Lynn University. While assisting I was able to give my perspective as a current Lynn student, do a meet-and-greet with the perspective students, inform them of the Lynn life they would be embarking on once attending the University. During the reception, I was also able to further assist with any parent questions, perspective students questions, and inform them of all the different opportunities that they would embark on while at our University. From answering questions I was able to get to know some of the families and allow them to become excited about their new journey down in South Florida. I was able to also host an ice breaker challenge where the perspective students were able to not only ask me questions about the life at Lynn but it also gave them a chance to meet new students and become comfortable with one another. From there, whoever won the challenge was able to receive a Lynn T-shirt and bag. After the reception, I had the wonderful chance to speak with several of the families and give them a warm welcome to their new Lynn Family.

Student Ambassador
-
Jan 2015 - Mar 2017
As a student ambassador, I am dedicated to serving Lynn University as well as representing the University by doing much more than just giving campus tours. I serve as a student representative who allows prospective students to come to the university and gain an experience in a one day visit. Not only do Lynn student ambassadors perform day to day duties we also give any individual the opportunity to jump-start their future by giving campus tours, allowing the prospective students and their families to meet with professors, sit in on classes, eat lunch with current Lynn students and faculty in our dining commons, they also interact with special services if need be and are given the chance to sit down with our admission counselors and find out how Lynn University will allow them to grow and be successful while attending. Some qualities that I take part in while being an ambassador is having leaderships skills, dependability, dedication, and the initiative to take on all kinds of responsibility roles while working in the Admission Office.
